It was built with the following principles in mind: Security, long term scalability, ease of use, accomodation to a wide variety of web designs, automatic features for search engine optimization (free promotion), and ease of maintenance.

GeniusCart II requires PHP 4.3 or later, MySQL 3.23 or later, and the Apache web server, all of which are free software and included with most Unix-like systems.
